| We are a small mixed group of both experienced painters and beginners. A weekly working session each Wednesday in the Pauanui Club Annex keeps us on our toes in preparing work for two exhibitions held in January each year. We bring in professional tutors on a regular basis to assist the group. A large Open Air Expo is held on 2nd and 3rd January which attracts artists from far and wide and currently has a waiting list. A few days later the Art Group show their work for two days in the Annex. Five of the local painters have formed an Art Trail and leaflets are available from the Pauanui Information Centre. I started concentrating on painting when I retired in 2000 and have attended around 4 tutorials each year since. Although, like so many people, I started with watercolours, I gradually found oils easier to manage but still paint in most mediums. Not having a studio my contribution to the Art Trail is a 'Garden Gallery' with paintings exhibited hanging on the trellis fence and confined to fine weekends only. My subjects are an eclectic choice of still life and local scenes.

Ann’s Art
I was born in Australia, moving to New Zealand when I was 4 year's old. I have been painting for many years and love the New Zealand bush. Mostly I paint landscapes and it gives me great pleasure to be able to create artwork that represents our glorious country in overseas markets.

I started painting at The Pauanui Art Group ten years ago and have attended several workshops in different mediums, I particularly love the sea and spend as much time as I can at the beach and enjoy painting the sky in its different moods. Ella my 3 year old Grandaughter enjoys the beach with me and also likes to paint.
Original Paintings in Oil and Acrylics. I specialise in Landscapes and Seascapes of local scenes. |

Ed's Art
I am a self taught artist. Most of my working life was spent in the commercial art field. I was a freelance artist, working for different advertising agencies and private businesses. When I retired to Pauanui, I joined the Pauanui Art Group, taking up the challenge of fine art. After working in oils and water colour, I discovered Acrylics and this is now my choice of medium. My subjects are varied, land and seascapes, flowers animals, still life and portraits from photographs, etc.
