IMPORTANT NOTICE - 24 July 2008
TO ALL GOLF MEMBERS!
Over the past months the Pauanui Clubs Board, Management and Golf Course Development Working Group, have been working on plans for the redevelopment of the Lakes Golf Course. The focus of this group was to develop a golf course that enhances the existing facilities and provides the current and future membership with a “test” of golf across all playing levels which would also be safer to neighbouring houses and players alike than the current course.
This said, the Club has engaged golf course Design and Build experts T.I.C to carry out such works. TIC have built many other courses such as Lakes Resort, Jacks Point, Kinloch, Matarangi, Akarana, Pakuranga Country Club and Kauri Cliffs to name a few.
The main points of the redevelopment include the re-siting of three greens to allow holes 2, 3 and 4 to be played in the reverse direction to that currently played. Also the construction of new tee blocks for each of these holes. But the work is not limited to this end of the course only, with other works being carried out on numbers one, five and six to further improve the playing and safety of the course.
This work represents a large investment in the future of golf at the Pauanui Club and those involved to date are excited about the anticipated result.
For this work to be undertaken it will mean the closure of holes one to four for a period of time. This is planned to commence at the end of July 2008 until the “Grand” re-opening expected in late December early January. Holes five to nine will remain open to players for the majority of this period, these holes can be played twice or combined with the Pines Golf Course (changes will be made to the Dot.Golf system accordingly). Although this could be perceived as an inconvenience, we are extremely fortunate to have another course to continue to use and every endeavour is being made for golf to proceed as programmed.
I hope you will join with us in supporting this project with understanding but most of all with expectation and anticipation of the end result.
Kind Regards
Rodney Barriball
General Manager

| Pauanui Art and Painting Group |
 |
| We are a small mixed group of both experienced painters and beginners. A weekly working session each Wednesday in the Pauanui Club Annex keeps us on our toes in preparing work for two exhibitions held in January each year. We bring in professional tutors on a regular basis to assist the group. A large Open Air Expo is held on 2nd and 3rd January which attracts artists from far and wide and currently has a waiting list. A few days later the Art Group show their work for two days in the Annex. Five of the local painters have formed an Art Trail and leaflets are available from the Pauanui Information Centre. |
